At Klaff's Lighting showrooms, our design
consultants are continually monitoring lighting design trends from two
perspectives - what is available within the industry and what is
demanded by our clients.
New items are added almost daily to our
already extensive collection. And if we don't have it in the showroom,
we can always order it for you.
While
the casual country look continues to be popular, our design consultants
are observing a resurgence of a more classic European and continental
statement in lighting fixtures - a style where details are accentuated
and embellished.
The demand is
strongly evident in the emphasis on foyer and entry pieces that will set
the tone for the selection of other lighting pieces throughout the home.
As the focal point
of the entrance to the home, the foyer fixture should be dramatic,
detailed and well-proportioned.
Brass - polished,
burnished and mixed with black- continues to be the most popular
metallic finish. Brass is also popular mixed with crystal. And crystal
chandeliers still evoke a romantic and timeless atmosphere
Contemporary
and modern lamp designs have also been updated for the new millenium.
Modern styles for the 2000's are more toned down - clean and classic but
still bold and striking. The lines are simply stated with dramatic
impact - definitely exemplifying that less is more.
Traditional styles in table lamps and floor lamps are reminiscent of the
1920's featuring beaded or fringed lamp shades. The lamp bodies
have classic balustrades and columns, copying strong architectural
building elements - design styles which will endure for many years and
prove that good design is timeless.
