Three Wallpaper Trends to Embrace Right Now

New England Home Shares Ideas for a Bold, Easy Make-over

Nothing can transform a room as swiftly and completely as the introduction of wallpaper. There has been a wallpaper renaissance the past few years with an abundance of different types of papers hitting the market. From subtle natural fibers to bold and graphic design—there is something for every design point-of-view.

Here are three wallpaper trends that are on New England Home Connecticut’s radar right now.

Gold Rush

It is no secret that gold and brass tones are enjoying a moment. Those who dare to embrace the trend head-on can swathe a room in golden glowing wallpaper. The effect is luxe and dramatic and works beautifully in spaces enjoyed in the evening—especially by candlelight.

Bigger is Better

Not afraid to make a style statement? Bold, large scale papers will instantly transform a room. It sounds counterintuitive, but these bold papers work beautifully in small spaces such as powder rooms and offices—or anywhere else you are open to creating some serious drama.

Oh so Faux

Wallpapers taking their cue from Faux Bois—French for fake wood—add a decidedly masculine element to a room. Just imagine a cozy room wrapped in lush bark and comforting earthy colors. The look is au courant with papers that have glamorous touches such as gilt or saturated color.
